Lotterywest becomes third funder of the Alliance

Excitingly, Lotterywest has recently joined original funding partners Minderoo Foundation and the Stan Perron Charitable Foundation as a financial contributor to the convening of the WA Children’s Funders Alliance.

The WA Children’s Funders Alliance (the Alliance) is an information-sharing collaboration of funders and philanthropists who are committed to improving the lives of children, young people, and families across Western Australia.

Lotterywest is one of the eight founding members of the Alliance, which was formalised in early 2025, following informal conversations since February 2023. 

Membership of the Alliance is free for grant-makers, philanthropies, and funders, with some members supporting the convening services that coordinate events and activities designed to strengthen information sharing and collaboration among members. 

The initial seed funders of the Alliance are the Minderoo Foundation and the Stan Perron Charitable Foundation, with the Fremantle Foundation also contributing in the first 18 months.

Supporting Western Australia since 1933, Lotterywest is the only government-owned lottery in the nation, and one of the few in the world, where all profits are returned to the community. 

In commenting on the Board’s decision to support the Alliance, Lorna Pritchard, Lotterywest’s General Manager of Grants and Community Development, said:

“Lotterywest is proud to work collaboratively with partners across Western Australia to improve well-being, connect communities and drive positive change.  We are also delighted to fund the Alliance to enable its work in support of children, their families and carers in WA.”

Executive Convenor Megan Enders welcomed the contribution made by Lotterywest, noting that

“this funding will support the Alliance’s aim of achieving greater impact through enhancing our individual and collective giving and investing in WA by learning about, sharing, connecting, and complementing each other’s work”.
